Intern, Infrastructure and Technology

This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in IT infrastructure management and asset lifecycle management. The intern will support the SysAdmin team by working on the refurbishing of laptops, managing asset inventories, and assisting the Cloud Ops team with cloud security tasks.The SysAdmin team is responsible for the management and maintenance of Kapitus’ IT Infrastructure. This includes ensuring the smooth and secure operation of servers, networks, applications, and technology assets. The team plays a critical role in maintaining the technological foundation of the organization, enabling the company to operate efficiently and securely. Our work ensures that the company’s IT infrastructure is always up and running smoothly, supporting every part of the business from operations to customer-facing services.

What You’ll Do:

Asset Management and Refurbishment

• Organize and separate returned laptops into "refurbish" and "recycle" categories.
• Update the Intune and JIRA Assets systems accordingly.
• Refurbish laptops by performing basic tasks such as reinstalling software, updating firmware, and ensuring the devices are in good working condition.
• Label and inventory older laptops marked for recycling and coordinate the secure data destruction process.

AWS Cloud Security Compliance

• Review and document AWS IAM users and permissions for compliance with security standards.
• Analyze S3 bucket configurations to ensure they meet security best practices.
• Assist with any necessary updates or remediation based on findings.
• Organize returned laptops, separate those to be refurbished from those to be recycled, and label them accurately.
• Update asset records in Intune and JIRA Assets, ensuring proper tracking of the devices.
• Perform basic refurbishing tasks on laptops, such as reformatting, installing necessary software, and ensuring devices are ready for redeployment.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors for the secure pickup of devices that need to be recycled and assist in the destruction process.
• Help review AWS IAM users and S3 bucket configurations for security compliance, working with the Cloud Ops team to identify and address any issues.

What We Are Looking For:

• The ability to accurately document and track all assets and changes in systems like Intune and JIRA Assets.
• Familiarity with asset management processes and lifecycle, though not mandatory, is a plus.
• Some experience with AWS cloud services, particularly IAM and S3 buckets, would be beneficial, but not required.
• The intern should be comfortable working with IT systems and devices, including laptops, and have basic troubleshooting skills.
• The intern should be able to handle multiple tasks, organize assets efficiently, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to clearly communicate progress, challenges, and solutions in a team setting.
