Position Overview: As a Marketing Intern, you will play a key role in supporting our Marketing Team to generate brand awareness and attract both small businesses and investors to our platform. You’ll be involved in social media management, press outreach, and providing general organizational support. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, mission-driven startup environment.

Role Responsibilities:

Social Media Management:

  • Manage Honeycomb’s social media accounts on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
  • Create, schedule, and post engaging content regularly.
  • Monitor social media channels and respond to comments and messages promptly.
  • Analyze social media metrics to measure performance and adjust strategies as needed.

Press Outreach:

  • Assist in writing and distributing press releases to relevant media outlets.
  • Research journalists for outreach and maintain a database of contacts.
  • Monitor media coverage and compile articles that mention Honeycomb Credit.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews and press events.

Organizational Support:

  • Maintain a content calendar for social media, blog posts, and other marketing activities.
  • Organize marketing assets and ensure they are easily accessible.
  • Assist in coordinating marketing campaigns and events.
  • Support the Head of Brand and Marketing with administrative tasks as needed.

Graphic Design Support:

  • Assist in creating graphics for social media, emails, and other marketing materials.
  • Update and maintain a library of marketing templates and assets.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Passionate about small businesses and economic opportunity.
  • Proven ability to create captivating social media content and execute successful marketing campaigns.
  • Skilled in developing visually appealing posts and stories, leveraging hashtags, and optimizing engagement strategies.
  • Organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented (we are in the financial industry after all!).
  • Familiarity with marketing software or advertising platforms, such as HubSpot and Facebook Business.
  • Experience in graphic design, particularly with tools like Canva, is a plus.

Additional Consideration Will Be Given to Candidates Who:

  • Have previous experience in social media marketing, email marketing, or content creation.
  • Have worked in a high-growth startup environment.
  • Demonstrate a track record of meeting goals and growing professionally.
  • Have experience in lending, crowdfunding, or fundraising.
  • Have worked in an independently-owned small business.
  • Are located in Pittsburgh.
