The purpose of this role is to assist the Director of Media in telling the story of Indoor Football League through best-in-class social media content. Working in this role will provide a unique experience to learn and participate with publishing across League channels for a professional sports organization.
Β The ideal candidate will have proficiencies in writing, graphic design, photography and social media, as well as a developed understanding of the sports media industry and the professionalism that is expected therein.
This is an unpaid internship, which will last from approximately February through August. The internship is a remote role that will require the successful candidate to work flexible hours, including at weekends.Β
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with documenting the Indoor Football League season through best-in-class social media content
- Create and contribute ideas for social media content
- Assist in crafting copy for social media posts on all League channels
- Assist in writing and reporting on the League, players, and coaches both on and off the field
- Able to work independently, take initiative, and maintain a high level of professionalism within a professional sports environment
- Follow brand guideline specifications and ensure consistency on quality during publishing
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary
SKILLS:
- Sharp editorial skills with good spelling, grammar and ability to articulate brand tone
- Strong knowledge of social media trends and knowledge of current and emerging platforms
- Comfort editing imagery or video into assets for social media posts
- Must have basic understanding of football
- Must have excellent communication skills and willingness to learn
- Video editing or photo editing skills advantageous
- Experience in Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator and Lightroom is ideal
- Experience managing social media channels
- Ability to provide own equipment
