About the role:
The Sponsorship Research Intern assists with research and execution of deliverables primarily for our in-house computer vision and data management teams. They will be responsible for assisting with the necessary research for creation of computer vision models, data management and QA validation of existing cutting edge technologies. They must be extremely detail oriented and have a strong contextual understanding of social media, major sports, and popular brands.
This paid internship entails remote work on a temporary basis. Depending on the candidates’ schedule, there will be approximately 15-25 hours a week. The hours will not be structured and can be tailored according to the candidate's schedule. This opportunity is perfect for a student whose schedule does not allow them to take on a traditional internship.
Hourly Rate: $12-$15/hour depending on background and experience
What you’ll do:
- Learn and understand the importance of sponsored assets, including camera-visible, social media, and others, for brands sponsoring teams, leagues, athletes, events, venues, and more in sports and entertainment
- Curating content for model training including the capture of specific angles for model training to include specific sponsorship assets
- Collaborate with multiple internal teams to gather and refine large data sets and analyze to provide key insights to clients on a per project basis
- Monitor brands, teams, leagues, and properties across the omnichannel universe and identify and deliver reports to internal analysts that would unlock additional value through services provided
- Be exposed to a deeper understanding of the inter-workings of teams and their partners, and how they interact with the league and the advertising sphere at large. Gain advanced insights into how brands identify value in properties and execute within the omnichannel universe.
- Learn more about software development and computer vision and how it intersects with sponsorship analysis
- Explore the social media universe to identify potential up and coming entities that would deliver more value to our clients
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
What we'd like you to have:
- Must have completed at least two years of an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the Google suite of applications, especially Excel/Sheets and PowerPoint/Slides
- General sports, gaming, and/or entertainment knowledge required
It’s a plus if you have:
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Comfort in quickly learning various software tools and packages
- An acute attention to detail
- Ability to extract insights from data and draw appropriate conclusions, then effectively translate those conclusionsÂ
- Ability to work in an autonomous, fast-paced environmentÂ
- Good understanding of social and digital marketing principles
- An interest in sports sponsorship or sports business is a plus but not a requirement
