Your Opportunity

EBSCO Information Services (EIS) is seeking a passionate UX research intern to join a growing team of UX professionals delivering evidence-based insights that strengthen EBSCO’s market-leading suite of database products. 

 

This is a Summer 2025 internship. This remote position is U.S.-based only (excluding U.S. territories).   

What You'll Do

  • Assist in the design of mixed-method research studies that directly impact product design and elevate the user experience of EBSCO products
  • Conduct discovery interviews, concept tests, usability tests and other forms of contextual inquiry with college students, faculty, librarians, and cutting-edge researchers
  • Analyze research data to identity pain points and opportunities in EBSCO research databases and related products
  • Create user journeys, empathy maps, and other UX artifacts to enrich EBSCO user personas and promote knowledge of our users
  • Advocate for user-centered product solutions and weigh-in on product decision-making with data-backed recommendations
  • Leverage UX methods and metrics to champion the needs of users and communicate the business value of user-centered research and design

 

Your Team  

You will be welcomed as a member of EBSCO’s User Research team, working with experienced UX professionals in a fast-paced, agile environment applying evidence-based insights to real-world products. About You

  • Current graduate student in a human-factors program with relevant coursework in UX research and UX methods
  • In-depth knowledge of UX research methods and approaches to contextual inquiry, especially discovery and usability testing
  • Experience designing and conducting UX research, especially among student and academic populations
  • Experience applying UX insights to practical design solutions and product decision-making

 

What sets you apart  

  • Experience working with user recruitment platforms (UserTesting, User Zoom, etc.) and knowledge of basic recruitment strategies
  • Strong interest in libraries, promoting information literacy, and improving tools that advance academic research and empower students to seek out high-quality information sources
  • Online portfolio of UX research work, featuring case studies and application of research insights (if available, please link to portfolio in application)

Pay Range

USD $26.00 - USD $31.00 /Hr.
