LumenUs is currently seeking to hire a talented cloud engineering intern to supercharge our capacity to make sense of geospatial datasets related to monitoring emissions of methane from anthropogenic sources like the energy and waste sectors. The intern will develop a basic cloud environment. Do the following statements describe you?

Role Description

This is an internship role with flexibility for remote work, for a current student. As a cloud engineering intern, you will help architect and implement a cloud-based analysis, modeling, and user-facing environment. Your work will contribute to the understanding and monitoring of carbon emissions and land surface changes, aiding in the development of solutions for climate change mitigation.

Required Qualifications

  • At least two years of higher education coursework in computer science, data science, data engineering, or something similar OR similar experience outside the classroom
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java
  • Proficiency in containerization technology such as Docker
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Passion for environmental sustainability and climate change mitigation
  • Experience with Spark or Hadoop
  • Experience with building distributed applications
  • Experience with Google Cloud or AWS
