Job Description: The Executive Assistant Intern contributes to ONC’s mission of providing non-partisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by assisting the Chief Operating Officer (COO) with scheduling appointments, events and meetings, and organizing the COO’s calendar. The Executive Assistant Intern is responsible for scheduling meetings with current and potential advisors, experienced professionals, and other people within the business and educational community, setting reminders for internal meetings throughout the work week that the COO will attend, and assisting the COO with various administrative and organizational tasks throughout the week. This intern will work closely with the COO while also coordinating with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and other directors and team leads regarding the COO’s daily schedule.
This position is remote, with work primarily conducted over Zoom and Slack, so applicants must be comfortable coordinating in a remote environment and are expected to maintain a high level of communication. This intern must commit to at least the end of the Fall semester (December 20th, 2024). However, many people choose to extend their internship past the amount of time they initially committed to, provided their performance meets the required standards.

Responsibilities:
Maintaining the Chief Operating Officer’s daily schedule and calendar
Coordinating effectively with the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Directors, Team Leads and Scheduling and Outreach Interns regarding dates/times for events and meetings to update COO’s calendar
Maintaining contact with the COO throughout the day to coordinate the COO’s schedule and give reminders regarding daily appointments and meetings
Coordinating with advisors, experienced professionals, and other people within the business and educational community to set meetings and appointments for COO
Assist COO in managing email inbox
Attend Organization-Wide team meetings every other week
Attend weekly leadership meetings
The Executive Assistant Intern should have the following skills, education, and experience:
Current student working towards a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management and/or related fields.
Experience with Microsoft Outlook preferred
Ability to maintain an organized schedule and calendar
Responsive, consistent, and effective communicator, even during conflict
Proficient with email and professional writing skills
Ability to work remotely and on their own schedule in order to make deadlines
Ability to attend the Organization-Wide meetings every other week
Must be authorized to intern in the U.S.
Proficient in G-Suite preferred
Great organization skills
Ability to keep information confidential
