About the Intern role:

As Hedera’s Global Policy Intern, you will have a unique opportunity to work on novel, complex, and exciting global policy projects that touch on topics such as blockchain/digital ledger technology, cryptocurrencies, cybersecurity, banking, financial inclusion, human rights, innovation, international trade, national security, privacy, property rights, technology development, and Web3.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct policy research and draft memoranda analyzing policy issues.
  • Draft letters, blogs, submissions, and other external materials.
  • Summarize remotely-attended global policy events.
  • Update policy tracking systems and schedule meetings.
  • Work with marketing teams to help spot and prepare the policy team for public engagement opportunities
  • Provide secretariat support to our work with international consultants and trade associations, where appropriate

Skill and Experience Required:

  • Excellent critical thinking, policy research, writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Have a demonstrated interest in digital assets and blockchain/digital ledger technology
  • Strong understanding of U.S. policy making process. Familiarity with European Union and United Kingdom policy making processes.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills

Education: Must have earned a BA/BS. Preference for candidates currently enrolled in law school or a graduate public policy program.Β 

Hours and Pay: Intern is expected to work 15-20 hours per week. If the intern prefers, potential for up to 40 hours per week during the summer. $20-23 per hour. Internships are non-exempt positions. Start date June 3, 2025.

Location: Remote. If located in the Washington, D.C. area, potential for occasional in-person meetings.Β
