As a Growth & Governance Intern for Basketball Operations, your work is critical in contributing to the management of organizational resources, protocols, and initiatives that drive operational effectiveness. Your contributions will support the optimal conditions for talent to thrive in.

Working with cross-disciplinary colleagues, you will provide administrative and research support for projects that align with the organization’s strategic priorities, including operations, organizational design, talent strategy, and reputation management.

In this role you will:

  • Project Coordination: Assist in managing project-related tasks through project briefs, timelines, spreadsheets, trackers, and checklists. Support meeting preparation, including drafting agendas, note taking, and tracking action items.
  • Information Management: Ensure consistency in digital file naming conventions and implement logical organized file structures for efficient access and retrieval.
  • Research & Analysis: Audit and analyze industry trends, as well as research best practices in outside industries to help guide strategic decision-making and organizational growth. Present findings in a clear and actionable format.
  • Quality Control: Review written documents, presentations, and other materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; currently enrolled in a master’s program (MBA, M.S. or M.A. in Sports Management preferred)
  • Prior experience working in a project management or a strategy-focused role required
  • Proven respect for confidentiality
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), Box, and Slack; experience with Slides.com is preferred
  • Ability to deliver clear, effective messages to diverse stakeholders
  • Skilled in documenting complex processes and maintaining structured file management systems
  • Capable of reviewing and refining content, including video content, written, and digital materials
  • Understanding of basketball is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently

Additional Details:

This is a paid remote internship reporting to the Vice President of Growth & Governance. The position requires a commitment of 20 hours per week during the summer, fall, and spring semesters, with availability for weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed. While the role is primarily remote, there may be an opportunity for in-person onboarding in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
