What You’ll Do:

Under direct supervision, the RPG IBM Developer Intern assists in creating and maintaining application programs on our freight platform.

Position Functions:

• Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security
• Use software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all the team deliverables
• Write high quality distributed system software
• Promote state of the art technology trends, standards, frameworks, and tooling
• Work in an agile and startup development

What We’re Looking For:

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience

Experience

• 0-2 years experience working in an information technology environment preferred
• Knowledge of IT Service Management and various frameworks a plus
• Transportation, Logistics, and/or Tech experience a plus

Skills & Abilities

• Basic programming knowledge in RPGLE and CLLE on the IBM i.
• Basic knowledge of both fixed format and free format source.
• Basic knowledge SQL and embedded SQL.
• Basic knowledge of IBM Rational Developer for i.
• Basic knowledge developing with ILE procedure, modules, and service programs.
• Good communication skills.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle.
• Adept at assessing organizational dynamics and managing change
• Works quickly and efficiently. Able to test solutions, learn, and iterate quickly
• Proactive and pragmatic problem solver
• Demonstrate competencies in analysis, teamwork, customer service, planning/organization, flexibility, stress tolerance, and communication
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications
• Strong analysis, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
• Maintain good peer, internal, and external client relations

Communicates effectively across multiple mediums
