Gorilla 76 is looking for part-time Strategy Intern candidates. As you work with our Strategy Department, you’ll be responsible for assisting on modern marketing programs that deliver meaningful business outcomes for our clients in the B2B manufacturing space. This is not just a summer internship, but instead, a year-round ongoing opportunity.

Your role




Our Strategy Department focuses on generating marketing-sourced pipeline revenue for our clients. You will be assisting Strategists in accomplishing that goal.




You’ll need to be equal parts learner and doer. Throughout the internship, you will shadow high-level consulting and client-facing workshops, and execute specific tactical projects like keyword research and audience building.




Internally, you’re the embodiment of our “results” core value. You assist the team in activities that will help our clients achieve their revenue goals. 




What that looks like





  • Shadowing strategists on high-level consulting engagements, such as discovery workshops with potential new clients or developing comprehensive marketing plans

  • Assisting with campaign creation and management, which may include developing creative briefs, conducting keyword research, and audience building

  • Skilling up and taking on additional responsibility as you grow, seamlessly moving from shadowing, to assisting, to executing select tasks

  • Reading, reading, reading; from new marketing books to updates to the platforms we use, you’re constantly bettering yourself by seeking out new knowledge

  • Learning about the inner workings of a digital marketing agency, seeing how departments like Client Success, Strategy, and Content all work together

  • Understanding the foundations of demand generation and industrial marketing




Within the Strategy department, you’ll work closely with the Strategists to grow your marketing skills and contribute to the team’s success internally.

  • Meeting weekly as a department to identify and work through issues

  • Owning your responsibilities and assisting wherever possible

Putting your role into perspective




Gorilla 76 creates comprehensive marketing plans for our industrial B2B clients that help them achieve their revenue goals. This starts with our discovery process, which results in a documented action plan containing all the marketing activities we recommend to help them achieve their revenue goals. The strategist will lead the team in executing the plan and, most importantly, reaching the client’s goals.




As an intern, you will assist strategists with key tasks throughout this entire process.




Within one month you’ll…





  • Learn Gorilla’s philosophy and the fundamentals of industrial marketing

  • Be introduced to the team

  • Start shadowing important workshops and consulting engagements

  • Be briefed on client accounts

  • Set goals for your internship




Within three months you’ll…





  • Conduct keyword research

  • Perform light Google Ads management

  • Create microcontent

  • Become familiar with paid social platforms

  • Assist with one-off strategy projects as needed




Beyond six months you’ll…





  • Begin executing strategic work that contributes to our clients’ success!




What you’ll gain from this internship





  • A fundamental understanding of demand generation marketing

  • Knowledge of how an agency works, and how to work effectively within one

  • Tactical marketing knowledge, including how to work in a CRM, experience with several digital marketing platforms (Google, LinkedIn, Facebook), reporting, campaign best practices, and how to create marketing plans

  • An understanding of B2B marketing in niche industries




The person





  • Is a sophomore or junior (as of spring 2024) in college studying Marketing, Business, English, Communications or related fields

  • Has the ability to work part-time (at least 10 to 15 hours per week) during the summer and school year, primarily during our typical working hours (8am to 5:30pm CST)

  • Is committed to learning and growing throughout the internship and can pick up new tasks and skills quickly

  • Takes initiative and has the ability to run with tasks, asking for help when needed

  • Is an analytical thinker, always asking “why?”

  • Brings new ideas to the table through creative problem-solving and experimentation

  • Embodies Gorilla 76’s core values
